ABOUT ASI : Promotional Products Industry

What exactly is a "promotional product"?

Basically, it's any item imprinted with a logo or slogan and given away to promote a company, organization, product, service, achievement, event, etc. T-shirts, mugs, pens and key tags are typical examples, but just about anything can be imprinted. In fact, the ASI database includes more than 650,000 products.

How big an industry is this?

Advertisers spend $15.1 billion annually on promotional products (source: The Counselor?, 2003 State of the Industry report). Compare that to the $6 billion spent on Internet advertising (source: TNS Media Intelligence/CMR). The big advantage promotional products have over other media is that they have a use in addition to promoting. The recipient usually keeps them, and the advertiser gets repeat exposure.

Where does ASI fit in?

ASI is the industry's information hub.
